MODELMAKING AND ENLARGEMENT In New York Art Foundry Inc.'s enlargement department, the artist is the supervisor of the process accomplished by our sculptors. We have staff members who are skilled and creative sculptors with a great depth of experience. Services in this department include the reduction or enlargement of forms of varrious aesthetic origin: representational, abstract, ornamental, organic, etc. For enlargements scaled one to three, a common turntable pantograph is used. Other methods employed at the foundry are the optical projection and cage-type pantograph methods. The process begins with the artist's drawing or model. In most cases the department will bring an enlargement to the stage of a complete well-defined form. Close collaboration with the artist is optional. In some cases an artist will work independently in the final stages to give sculptures a personal touch. The New York Art Foundry's enlargement department also is skilled in model and pattern making. Foundry services also include life body casting.
